So for 2011 I am making just one resolution for my writing.
FINISH WRITING THIS BOOK
That's it.
I'll probably do a lot of reading. I hope I'll keep up with the blog and Twitter. I might even write another book after this one is done.
But if I finish the book I'm working on (and by finish I mean write, revise a hundred times, and polish until it sparkles), and do nothing else with my writing this year, I will be happy.
What do you plan to write in 2011?

Finishing my book is also one of the few things on my list, though I don't think I'm going to completely finish it. I've been on the first draft for way too long.
Good luck!
Right there with you. I want to finish this puppy and get it out there. We can do this! :D Good luck on yours, and keep us posted so we can give you lots of emotional support!
Excellent resolution. You can do it!!
That's a great resolution! I'm doing the same. Write another book and write a screenplay. That's it. No big expectations. I think I can do it too! But it's still challenging. Happy New Year!
I think it's awesome you're keeping it simple. Well...if writing and revising a book until it sparkles is considered simple. haha I'm keeping mine simple too; carving out time for the things I love and saying no to the ones I don't. Have Happy New Year, Natalie!
Great goal! I want to finish the book I'm writing and hopefully start another. My other goals are easy ones like not cutting my hair. I can do that, lol.
That's also my goal for the year -- to finish a book I've been sitting on and planning for months. Good luck with your goal! :)
That is a great goal-- simple and straight to the point! Good luck and Happy New Year!
In 2010 I stressed myself about finding an agent, but the sensible focus for 2011 is polishing my first novel. (which may offer me a better chance at finding representation.
Good Luck Natalie, you will achieve your goal!
I like that goal. I think I'll steal it (or better, we share it). :D
Here's to a good 2011!
YAY, Natalie! Go for it!
Well, since I just finished revising my first novel in December and I literally just started writing my 2nd novel on January 1st, I may not finish the new one this year, aside from the rough draft, but I'll certainly try.
Happy New Year!
You've got a great goal. Good luck and Happy New Year!
Yeah,if only that one "little" goal were actually simple, ha! But I know you can do it. Go Natalie, go! Happy 2011!
Not a little goal at all! I want to write book two this year *gulp* book one took 18months so this is a BIG cut down!
The Arrival, on Amazon now!

Actually, I'd like to start and finish a book too. Last year was very slow for me.
Good luck!
That's an excellent goal, Natalie. Cheers to a new year and a new book!
I hope to begin and maybe finish the first full draft (or more) of a new project. My biggest dream for 2011, though, is finding that one agent who will love my current MS as much as I do.
my res - submit book to agents! :)
That's so funny because I was thinking the same thing. I set all these goals for 2010, and wasn't able to accomplish many. I'm also keeping it simple in 2011 and only hoping to finish my new project. Good luck with your goal!
I'm so with you on this! That's my goal, too. To research, write, revise, and polish, polish, polish one book in 2011. If I do more, awesome, but if not, I'll be happy with one project completed.
Best of luck, I'll be rooting for you and look forward to hearing about your new novel. :)
I would like to revise and polish my newest fractured fairy tale, sell it, and write one more PB that is sale-worthy.
You already know my plan: finish the big revision and write TSCC. :)
Let's make sure we keep each other on track!
xo
Excellent goal Natalie. I just hopped on over to your site from Trisha Leavers and have enjoyed looking at your back posts. Good luck with your 2011 resolution. Mine is to finish my first dystopian and find an agent LOL!
I have the same goal you have! I want to edit my book if it takes all year:)) The longer the better actually because I think it will be better that way. See you on at New Year's eve with our goals completed!
