My Workspace

Well, I'm still a little sick and this has been kind of a crazy day, so I thought I'd jump on the bandwagon and post pictures of my workspace. I didn't even clean it up before I took these pictures, so you can see it in all it's messy glory.

My workspace is located in a little extra bedroom, just down the hall from the room where my kids play. The walls are light green, the air circulation is good, and there's a window with a pretty decent view of the best yard in the neighborhood (it belongs to the house across the street).

This is where the magic happens:

Fancy right? I especially like the large winged horse and the fact that more than half of the screen is taken up with Dora the Explorer on Netflix. When my son is awake, I usually have to share the screen, which is why I try not to write while he's awake.

I know you are coveting my awesome flower lamp, my puppy dog mousepad, and my ghetto high school pottery too. There's nothing like looking at crappy pottery to get those creative juices flowing.

It's not exactly glamorous, or clean, but it's where I write.

Where do you write?

You need a picture on the wall. :)

LOL -- I think we have the same chair! Your space is pretty neat (*Nicole looks around her own cluttered desk*). If I ever snap pics of my workspace, I'll definitely have to tidy up first!

Your son is too cute! Hope you're feeling 100% again soon, Natalie :)

First thing I noticed was the horse. :) I love that we get to see your workspace. Now, I can pic you there with Dora on the screen.

I'm a total wanderer. Lately I've been writing on my bed. Well, not ON it, but you know. ;)

Nice workspace. I love that big screen. Don't know if I could watch a movie and write at the same time though:-)

I have two workspaces, one is a treadmill desk (you can see it here if you want: http://tinyurl.com/y8fbfel ) and the other is a glider rocker next to the woodstove. They are polar opposites in terms of posture. I haven't done a workspace post yet, thanks for the reminder. And, I hope you are totally better soon!!

I'm not posting my workspace! It's my bed :) No room anywhere else!

I think my daughter had that same horse once upon a time!

You definitely need a picture in your workspace! One you can stare at and daydream...er, I suppose that defeats the whole purpose of 'workstation'. :)
I can't wait until I have my own space again.

P.S. Feel better soon!

Love it. I need to take a photo of mine in all it's glory. No holds barred. I can see why you don't write while watching Dora, or else some spanish words might make their way into your manuscript.

I totally need one of those horses! :D

I love posts like this! It sort of feels like you've invited us all in for a cup of tea :)

I refuse to post my work space. It would just make me cry. My workspace is pathetic. But I'd take your winged-horse, half-screened Dora, pottery and puppy loving environment any day!

I love that you actually have a desk!! LOL And it's sweet that you share the screen with your son. *ducking my head in shame*
I write with my laptop on the couch, but I have a pile of papers on the table.

I'm coveting that flying horse! What a beauty. I used to collect statues of horses as a kid. I think its amazing that you can write while your son watched cartoons at the same time! Wow.

Oh, thank you! I love seeing work spaces. As Wendy said, it's as though you invited us over for tea. :)

Take care of yourself and be well!

I'm working to move my writing space, but it's a process. Right now it's in an extra bedroom (with green walls) and an uber-cool Egyptian papyrus on the wall.

Love the Dora the Explorer shot, BTW. My daughter is slightly obsessed with Dora. I think she knows more Spanish than I do now.

Nice. Sharing with your son, very cute, but hard to write I would think! Looks like a good area. I like the color of the walls, it's calming. And I love dark wood ;o)

I agree a picture on the wall would be nice for you!

My space is on my recliner with my macbook, yep. not that glamorous, but it works, for now ;o)

Ah, writing is so glamorous. LOL

since getting a laptop, I moved my "office" to the dining room since it has lots of windows and natural light. :)

I like your ghetto pottery...have some of my own on my desk. I also like the little look inside your work area and sharing your space (and your screen) with your son. I have to do the same thing, but usually it's one or two kids climbing to sit behind me on the chair. It used to be so hard for me to write like that and then the more kids I had the more adapted I became! I have a desk in the kitchen so there's always some action, even during supposed nap time.

Show off. Anyone can post a pic without cleaning. I suppose you think your better than me. That I'm all snobby cause I cleaned.

Actually, yours is what mine usually looks like. I just can't stand it. In fact, I don't even want to write anything for fear of messing it up.

And ghetto pottery. It's all over my house. My wife used to make it. If she ever leaves me I'm auctioning it off.

Excellent room! I write at the kitchen table. That way I can be a mom and tend to my crops on Farmville. :)

Even though it's total weirdness, I do my best writing on the computer in my classroom. Sometimes I even got to school on the weekends to write. :-)

Very cool to get a glimpse of your work space, Natalie! We have to do what works at this stage of mommy life!

Believe it or not, you desk is way cleaner than mine. I try to clean it up, but stuff always seems to magically reappear:)

I guess that's why I started writing at my table in the dining room a few weeks ago.

Wow, your desk is so clean! I try to neaten mine on weekends but inevitably things begin to pile up again.
Be well.

I love seeing people's workspaces. I don't really have one of my own. I have a desk, but my laptop just follows me around the house. lol :)
