You all know I'm a writer. Most of you also know I'm the mom of four very little children. For the past few months I've been pondering how I can be both a good mom AND a good writer. I've realized that, to make it work, I need to give up some things. One of those things is this blog. I plan to come back to it. Maybe in a few months. Maybe in three years, when my baby is in preschool. I don't know. Right now I want to focus all of my nearly non-existent free time on writing books. I'll miss you. I know I haven't kept up very well these past few months, but I do care about you and I'll try to check in on your blogs every now and then. If you ever have a question or just want to chat about writing, books, publishing, parenting, or anything else, please EMAIL ME. I even added an email button to the sidebar to make it easier. You can also tweet me, though I should warn you, my tweets are sporadic. I'm @
nataliebahm on Twitter. Good luck to all of you! I hope to see many of your names on book covers soon. Happy writing.

I don't know how you do it, Natalie. I've got one kiddo and she keeps me hopping.
Good luck with the writing- I expect to see your name on book covers soon!
Hang in there, Natalie. You're doing amazing, and you will get there! We'll be here when you get back :) Meanwhile, I hope we do see a little of you on twitter etc. I'll miss you!
Go well and enjoy life, kids and writing :)
Take good care of yourself. Blogging isn't as important as the writing itself. And four kids, well, you deserve a special award all to your own. We'll miss you.
Best wishes to you! I totally understand. Enjoy those babies before they grow up. :-)
I understand and I kick this around from time to time. May your writing time and raising time be blessed!

Best of luck with everything! I totally understand your decision. I don't have any kids, and I can barely find time to write. We'll miss you!
The blogosphere will miss you, Natalie! Enjoy your time with your little ones and have fun writing your books! Many blessings to you. :)
Good luck Natalie! I completely understand, as I have two young children and one more on the way. It can be so overwhelming. We'll be here whenever you come back. Best wishes to you!
It sounds like a wise decision. Look forward to when you get back.
Totally understand where you're coming from. Good luck with everything.
Family MUST come first and so must your writing. I'll miss you and will be anxiously watching for your return. Good luck, Natalie!! :-)
I feel your pain being a mom to one (at home) and now pregnant with the 2nd while working 2 jobs from home and trying to revise. Good luck to you:)
Awww, I hope you find a good balance. *HUGS*
So long Natalie. Take care of those little ones and see you when you get back.
Your family, and your writing, comes first. It's amazing how much you get done with 4 little ones! You amaze me. I know how hard it is for me, and I only have 2!
Good call. Those baby/toddler years are very demanding, and sometimes you just can't do everything. I know I couldn't! Best wishes with your writing!
As a mother myself I understand and family comes first, and everything else somehow work out and that includes writing, I write midnight to to three in the morning because that is the best time when mommy duty is not in demand. You WILL get there and the journey will be sweeter because you toughed it out, it's not easy this journey we are all on but if you can stay strong now then when your time comes nothing will be too difficult.
Take care sunshine.
You will be missed. Your energy is important and you are wise to put it to the most fruitful endeavor. And you will never regret being all there for your children
We will still be here for when you get time to say hello. Best wishes on your writing and have fun with the little ones!
Will miss you buT I DO understand!
Hi Natalie,
Your blog and wonderful discussions here will be missed but I completely understand and empathize with your need to prioritize! Writing and family have to come first. Wishing you great writing and great time with your kids.
I always admire it when mothers take breaks like this. It's important to always be assessing priorities during this time in your kids' young lives. You never get it back! Blessings...
May the force be with you!
I'll miss your posts, Natalie, but you're absolutely doing the right thing. Family should always come first. Hope you get some writing time too, but don't stress out if you don't. Your kids will grow up faster than you realize.
Be well.
Aw, best wishes to you.
My blog Amish Stories is having its first ever contest this week. The First prize winner will win 2 tickets to tour the farm where the 1985 move "Witness" staring Harrison Ford and Kelly Mcgillis was made in Strasburg,Pa . This farm is now Amish owned, and the family has given permission for folks to tour their farm. This may be the last time anyone will be able to walk and see the same things that Harrison Ford and the other actors saw during the making of "Witness". The Witness tour should last about 2.5 hours. In addition to the Witness farm tour tickets, 1st prize winner will also receive 2 tickets for Jacobs choice. There will also be a 2nd place prize, which will be 2 tickets for the Amish Homestead. Please go to My blog www.AmishStorys.com for contest details, and more information on the prizes. Richard from the Amish settlement of Lebanon county.
